Parody

A parody is a media text that has a comical aspect which is an imitation of something else. Today we looked at a video for a Mumford and Sons music video. The video is very deceptive as the beginning makes the audience think that the performers in the video are the actual artists however they are in fact actors from different comical shows. When I noticed who the characters were I instantly found the video more comical. It also led me to want to watch other videos made by Mumford and Sons to see whether the way the video was performed was an accurate imitation of the group itself. I liked this music video because it was different from others I have seen and the comedy aspect made it more enjoyable and interesting.
